Why is sign-in blocked for my account?+
Niovex is currently in a pilot phase under Google OAuth verification. Only whitelisted Google accounts can sign in. Use the contact form on this page to request access with your Google email address. Once Google approves our OAuth app, all accounts will be able to sign in without restrictions.
What Google permissions does Niovex request?+
Niovex requests read-only access to Google Drive (drive.readonly). We use this only to read files in the specific folder you connect. We cannot modify, delete, or share your files. We do not access Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google service.
How do I revoke Niovex's access to my Google Drive?+
Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, find Niovex in the list, and click Remove Access. This immediately revokes our ability to read your Drive. Your previously indexed data will remain until you request deletion.
How do I delete my data?+
Use the contact form on this page (select Privacy & Data) from your registered Google account and request data deletion. We will remove all your stored document chunks, embeddings, tokens, and account data within 30 days.
Are my documents stored on Niovex servers?+
No. Original document files are never copied to our servers. We read them directly from Google Drive via the Drive API and store only encrypted text extracts and vector embeddings. Your files stay in your Google Drive.
What file types are supported?+
PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), plain text (.txt), and most common document formats. Scanned PDFs are processed using Apache Tika with OCR capabilities.
How long does indexing take?+
Indexing speed depends on the number and size of files. Most folders with 10-50 documents index in under 5 minutes. You can monitor progress on the Setup page.
Note: Google OAuth Verification in Progress
Niovex is currently undergoing Google's OAuth app verification process. During this time, only whitelisted Google accounts can sign in without seeing a security warning. If you see a "This app isn't verified" screen, you can click "Advanced" → "Go to Niovex (unsafe)" to proceed, or use the contact form above to be added to the whitelist. Once verification is complete, all users will be able to sign in without restrictions.
